About the Position:
The Field Technician II is responsible for independently performing standard audiovisual installation tasks while supporting more complex installations under limited supervision. This role includes reading drawings, completing terminations, supporting rack builds, and executing structured cabling tasks. The technician is expected to complete work accurately the first time while adhering to company standards, project plans, and safety requirements.
What You Will Do:
Install displays, projectors, screens, speakers, microphones, cameras, and related AV hardware according to drawings and scope of work
Perform device mounting using appropriate hardware, anchors, and fastening methods
Maintain clean, organized, and professional jobsite environments
Pull, route, support, and dress copper and fiber cabling in compliance with standards
Perform cable terminations including crimp, punch-down, captive screw, and basic fiber
Label cables, devices, and terminations accurately per project requirements
Assist with rack fabrication, equipment mounting, power distribution, and signal flow organization
Read and interpret installation drawings, cable schedules, and documentation
Identify and escalate discrepancies between drawings and site conditions
Coordinate work effectively with other technicians, trades, and leadership
Follow all safety procedures including PPE requirements and proper equipment usage
Self-check work for accuracy, completeness, and quality standards
Provide progress updates and assist with documentation, reporting, and photo records

Ability to read and interpret drawings and technical documentation

Requirements
Education and Certifications:
Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent
OSHA 10 Certification
Preferred:
AVIXA CTS certification (or willingness to obtain with company support)
Experience:
Required:
Minimum 2 years of experience in commercial AV installation
Preferred:
Experience with structured cabling and device mounting
Skills & Abilities:
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Valid driver’s license and ability to operate company vehicles
Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
Ability to quickly learn AV tools, systems, and standards
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. independently and up to 75 lbs. with assistance
Ability to work overtime as required
