Company History
Origins and Founding (2016–2017)
Skandal Technologies was founded in 2016 in Helsinki, Finland with a vision of pioneering digital and interactive experiences through innovative technologies. Initially conceived as a printed electronics-based company, the firm explored the intersection of physical environments and digital interactions. At that stage, Poet was not the centerpiece of the business but rather a supporting software tool designed to complement the company’s early hardware-focused solutions.
In 2017, following a shareholder restructuring, the company pivoted towards a new business model. This marked the first significant shift in its direction, moving away from a pure-play printed electronics approach and exploring interactive digital content integrated with architectural environments.
Emergence of Poet Creator (2018–2020): The Shift Towards Digital Experience Design
By 2018, the company’s focus began shifting towards the seamless integration of real-time digital content into architectural spaces.
